Story of Kris Gemmell

When Kris Gemmell got off the plane and into the Hotel, his first triathlon competition was running. He grabbed his stuff and went off to do his thing.
“And here comes Kris Gemmell to the finish!”
“Hey! He has come 4th !”
Kris’ fans cheered happily.

The next day Kris had to do the swimming. He put on his togs and went to the pool.
Kris was competing to: China, India, Nepal, Argentina, Guatemala, Mexico, Australia and lots of others.
Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep!!!!!!!!! The race had started.
After 18 minutes they announced Kris.
“And Kris Gemmell has come 5th!!!”
“I don’t think he’s going to win any medals!”
“Yeah! And in 6th we’ve got Mexico!”
The next triathlon was in 3 hours. It was biking next.
He practiced and practiced till he got better!

Now is his big chance to win gold but oh-no Kris has lost his bike!!
His turn wasn’t till 5:00 and it was already 4:00! Kris had only 1 hour left to find his bike.
He left the arena and looked all over London but he didn’t find a single bike like his.
But then, he saw it, he found it. Yes it is what you are thinking!
He found a kid with one of those little unreal baby motorcycles. He told the Kid
“Hey boy, it’s me Kris Gemmell. I’ve lost my bike and I need to borrow that Motorcycle of yours!!”
And at that little awkward silence time the Kid fainted immediately.
So he took the bike and rushed over to the arena.
He was 5 minutes late, and they were already waiting for him. Kris got on and started the race.
One of the bikers said “Ha! Kris can’t win on that thing he’s riding on.”
But that biker was looking behind himself and didn’t see the turn in front of him and then BANG!!!
He fell over tipping the rest of the bikers over, but Kris was able to get past them.
The finish was 600 meters away from him till he realized that a biker was 10 meters away from him.
Kris was kicking as fast as he could!
They were going to tie when Kris did a humongous kick and passed the finish!
A roar of applause filed the entire arena.
“I can’t believe it! Kris Gemmell has won the… spell it out to me crowd!!”
“G.O.L.D.!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Kris and his fans were soooooooooooo happy!!!

The End!

  1. Kia ora Diego. I love your descriptive language and your varied sentence beginnings and lengths. Some brilliant twists in this narrative, well done. A great GOLD for New Zealand - what happened to Mexico? Mrs Grant
